Overview
Stowe was founded durring the late 9th century, by Caralia Swinnerton. The establishment of Stowe was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Caralia Swinnerton electing to pay people to resettle in Stowe .
Stowe was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 9th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Stowe is no diffrent. The village's buildings feature plaster covered brickwork used to form structures with an emphasis on symmetry, proportion, geometry and the regularity of parts. Orderly arrangements of columns, pilasters and lintels, as well as the use of semicircular arches, hemispherical domes, niches and aediculae can be found everywhere such that only size of building and yard can be used to measure the general prosparity of a given building's owners due to a general wealthy feeling the style gives off.
Stowe is is constructed arround a semi-circular restrictive cobblestone mainstreet, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to eachother at varrious points. The village sits behind a stone-renforced palisade wall, with stone gatehouses and timber drawbridges for their trench. Stowe 's would-be-castle fortifications are in an unremarkable state. To some, this is the ideal sate for defences to be in. In need of absoutly nothing, and ready to serve the village as needed.
The village shows nothing out of the ordinary, at first glance. Then you start to notice all the small things. Each window has seven iron nails pounded into the sill. Every door has a sprig of holly overhead. Every well is branded with purity seals and runes to ward the contents. Everyone is carrying a small charm for safety or fortune, be it a rabbit’s foot, a horseshoe, or other little totems.
Civic Infrastructure
Stowe has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Stowe has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Stowe has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Stowe 's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Stowe has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.
Stowe has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Cultural Notes
Stowe 's garrison was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.
In Stowe grains of dust blow into perfectly neat rows.
Stowe 's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in summer and involves creating small tokens to channel Necromancy energies of tier 1 via oratory performances.

History
Stowe is in secret rebellion against their ostensible liege, having cut deals with his enemies, plotted to betray him for their own gain, or bridled under his tyranny and sought a better lord. The community’s leadership is all in on this plot, and outside viceroys or representatives are being kept carefully ignorant of the reality. The common folk may be oblivious to the truth, though they’ll doubtless have felt the same motivations and promptings that convinced their leaders to turn traitor.
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century Mount Woe, an iconic vista located neare Stowe , proved to be volcanic when the mountain erupted. The eruption was isolated to the area around Stowe , which was swallowed in ash, lava flows, and pyroclastic gasses. Stowe lost 193 people, 180 livestock, and 31 buildings in the disaster. The event is forever remembered as the Day of Woe's Wrath.
